DChat Beta: the First Public Release
This is where DChat became something you could actually download. Decentralized, end-to-end encrypted messaging, with no central server and no phone number.

An account that is not a phone number
You sign up with a username. There is no phone number, no email, and no verification code, because there is no company database holding a row about you that a number would point at.
Your account is a key pair generated on your device. That is what makes the rest of it possible: nobody can hand over your messages because nobody is holding them, and nobody can lock you out of your identity because nobody is issuing it.
Chats, groups and calls
One-to-one and group conversations are end to end encrypted. Groups have invite links and join requests, so you can share one link and approve who actually comes in. Voice and video calling is built in. You can send photos, albums, locations and files.
It is a beta, and it looks like one
We are saying this plainly rather than in small print: this is a first public beta. Things will be rough, some of them will break, and the fastest way for that to stop being true is for you to tell us which ones.
