Notification Tones, Call Sounds and Your Contacts' Profile Effects
A smaller release about how DChat sounds and feels, plus one fix that matters more than it looks: the app no longer gets slower the longer you keep it open.
- 20 new notification tones
- Upload your own sound, or save audio from any chat as a tone
- New call sounds
- See the profile effects your contacts wear
- Opens faster and stays smooth, even after hours of use
- Fixes for calls and notifications
Make it sound like you
DChat now has its own set of 20 notification tones to choose from. If none of them is right, upload a sound of your own. You can also take a voice message or audio file from any chat and save it as a notification tone straight from the message menu.
New call sounds
Calls now have their own sounds for ringing, connecting, busy, a failed call and hanging up, so you can tell what is happening without looking at the screen.
Profile effects on everyone
Since 0.801 you could dress up your own profile. Now you also see the effects your contacts wear, in the chat list and when you open their profile.
Fast after hours, not just at launch
Some of you noticed DChat getting slower over a long session until you restarted it. The cause was the way the app kept pictures in memory: it held on to too many and did not let go when the phone needed the room. That is fixed, and the app also opens faster from the very first launch.
Also in this update
If notifications are turned off, DChat now reminds you from the chat list, gently and not every day, because a messenger that cannot reach you is easy to miss. Calls and notifications also got a round of fixes.
Pick a tone and tell us how it sounds.
